Annuit Coeptis

"Annuit Coeptis" is a Latin phrase that appears on the reverse side of the Great Seal of the United States. It can be translated to mean "He (or Providence) favors our undertakings" or "He (or Providence) has approved of our undertakings." This phrase is often associated with the idea that a higher power or divine force is believed to support and bless the efforts and endeavors of the United States. It is one of the mottoes found on the Great Seal, with the other being "E Pluribus Unum," which means "Out of many, one."
