1.   1547:   Ivan the Terrible was crowned the first Tsar of Russia.

5.   1991:   The Persian Gulf War began as Operation Desert Storm was launched to drive Iraqi forces out of Kuwait.

6.   2001:   The First Blackberry smartphone, the BlackBerry 5810, was released.

7.   2003:   The Space Shuttle Columbia was launched for what would be its final mission. It disintegrated upon re-entry 16 days later.
